Kalafina ~ heavenly blue (Aldnoah.Zero OP) gets a PV !!

I was about to go to bed and was just catching up on twitter when this got my attention.  It's Kalafina, so I will delay going to bed for them. :P

This is interesting.  They made a PV for "heavenly blue".  This is interesting because "heavenly blue" isn't really that new a release for the trio.  This was first released as one of the tracks on The Best "Blue" album in July before it was released as a separate single in August.

Usually, these PVs are timed to be released close to when the singles are released or when the anime begins broadcasting.  It's not that common for them to make a PV to be released when the first cour of the anime has already aired.

Also, this wasn't a big release for Kalafina because the big release was actually the pair of best compilation albums they released in July and "heavenly blue" had already been released in one of the albums.  Also, there was only one version of this release instead of their usual four versions and there was no coupling song included in the single as well.  So them making a PV for this... I don't think this was the original plan at all.

Natalie Music and Animate.tv has some very awesome screen captures up on their website.  And luckily for us who like Keiko best, their MCU screen capture has Keiko looking quite fabulous! :)

Animate.tv gave more information about the reasons why they decided to make this PV.  And I'll attempt to do a loose translation of the Animate article.

Apparently, after the anime began to broadcast in July of this year, the internet was abuzz with comments about how much people liked this song.  For example, netizens were saying things like "Aldnoah.Zero's opening theme is the best!", "Alnoah.Zero's opening theme is looping in my head", "It's really cool" etc.

Aldnoah,Zero, the anime, is directed by Aoki Ei and written by Urobuchi Gen who was also involved in the internationally popular anime Fate/Zero.  (I think what the writer for Animate.tv is implying is that because the anime has such big names attached to it, the anime and the OP received a great deal of attention internationally.)

I'll provide the original Japanese text here because I'm not entirely sure how accurate my translation is.  If I have time and remember to do it, I may ask my Japanese friend later today.  But for now...  here goes...

I think here, it's saying that they decided to make this PV because of the good response to the song. And because "heavenly blue" has already been released three months ago, they had to hurry to make the PV.

They also had to make new clothes for the PV.  I think they put in a lot of effort into the new dresses for the PV so the writer is saying, don't overlook that.

The rest of the animate.tv article goes on to talk about the free commemorative live for the launch of the "believe" single which is scheduled for a Nov 19th release.  The free live will be at the Lazona Kawasaki Plaza in Kanagawa on Nov 23rd.

The short version of the PV began streaming of GyaO! from Oct 17th and will be streamed exclusively at GyaO! until Oct 23rd. Unfortunately, this is once again restricted to Japan only.  SERIOUSLY!!!  SMEJ or whoever manages artistes like Kalafina etc, this isn't helping you get international fans.  :(

Hmmm.... I wonder if this means that the chances of Kalafina singing the 2nd OP for this anime is rather high.  I think it is really quite possible that they might be involved again since they actually made a PV for the song and released it even after the first half of the anime has already aired.  I really don't mind at all.  I'm a big fan so any new release is welcomed. :)
